Stories and Stones Historic Cemetery Tour at Roselawn Cemetery

Please join us for a walking tour of one of Lakeland’s oldest cemeteries, Roselawn Cemetery.

During this tour you will learn more about the history of Lakeland, as told through the stories of some of our past residents. You will also become familiar with common funerary iconography and the meanings behind the stones.

The tour will begin at the northern end of the cemetery, just off East Parker Street.

We will be walking through paved and unpaved areas. Cemetery ground may be uneven. Please walk with caution and wear appropriate shoes. Please use appropriate sun protection and stay hydrated.

The tour will end if lightning is visible or if it begins to rain.

The Stories and Stones tour will be offered on a monthly basis, from October through March. Each month will alternate between a tour of Roselawn Cemetery and a tour of Lakeview and Tiger Flowers Cemeteries.  Tours are intended for ages 13 and older.

Parking Information:

Roselawn Cemetery is located at the intersection of North Ingraham Avenue and East Parker Street. Please enter the cemetery through the entrance on North Ingraham Avenue. The paved cemetery road branches off to the left and right. Park on either branch, making sure to pull forward enough to make room for others arriving after you. Please drive with caution in the cemetery.
