Carol MacIntosh, Lake Wales Public Library Reference Assistant and Diana Davila, Lake Wales Public Library Youth Services Assistant will present a one-hour workshop, Basic Book Repair.
Carol and Diana have taken extensive training on Book Repair. They perform all repairs in our library.
They developed the curriculum for Basic Book Repair two years ago and have taught the class at the Lake Wales Public Library several times.
Basic Book Repair includes an overview of the parts of a book. They discuss the difference between Preservation, Restoration and Conservation. Participants will learn how to properly repair torn pages and broken spines. They’ll understand the tools needed to repair a book correctly.
