About the Author
A native Floridian, Yvonne Mangram McShay, Ms. retired 2009 Professor Emerita from Polk State College. She is the author of several professional articles and two books. Our Lakeland: The Other End of Florida Avenue and Are You a Prepositional Phrase? Although retired, Yvonne believes in education beyond the classroom. In fact, she continues to plan, organize and present educational programs in the community, in her home, and at church St. Mark United Methodist.
She is actively involved in the community. She is a library advocate, community volunteer and served on City boards. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Int. and American Association of University Women. In addition, she is a graduate of three leadership programs.
