Get crafty in the comfort of your own home!  The Lakeland Libraries are offering take and make craft kits for adults at all of our branch locations.  Each month will feature a different project that includes instructions and supplies. Kits will not include basic home supplies such as scissors, tape, markers, etc.

January's Craft: Gratitude Galaxy Jar

Each kit will contain the instructions to make Origami Lucky Stars and a jar to keep them in. Throughout the year, write down fun memories, things you're grateful for, and meaningful quotes on the strips of paper. Once folded into stars all your bright spots are on display in the glass jar, if needed you can always move your stars to a larger jar if you're having a particularly good year.

At the end of 2025 you can unfold your stars and remember the good times, leave them in their jar as a keepsake, pour them into an ornament, or make a greatest hits 2025 collage. This craft can be repeated as often as you'd like using any paper on hand. 

Take-home kits are for ages 18 and up.

Registration is required and will open on Monday, January 13th at 10:00 am.

Select your library when you register and pick up your kit on the week of Januray 20st. If you prefer a curbside pickup of your craft kit, please call your library when you arrive and we can bring your craft to you.

Kits that are not picked up by Monday, January 27th will be given to the next available registrant.
