Listeners’ Club: Thum Prints

Second Wednesdays @ 6 p.m.
Lakeland Public Library
Main Library Meeting Room
Maestro Mark Thielen will discuss the nature of creativity and innovation in classical music, including the modern “beatboxer” using his mouth to create orchestral sounds.
The study of music has many connections with the multitude of humanities disciplines. With an emphasis on appreciation, a jaunt into history and a hint of technique, lectures for adults stretch music’s value beyond entertainment.
The ISO’s Listeners’ Club, in partnership with the Lakeland Public Library, presents free lectures and discussions related to upcoming ISO performances and symphonic music in general. Learn about composers, musical themes, instruments and your ISO musicians in an interactive lecture once a month.
