Like comics and graphic novels? Join us for The Comic Workshop with Andre Frattino 
on Saturday, October 6 at 2 p.m. in the Meeting Room at Lakeland Public Library (100 Lake Morton Drive).
 The 90-minute workshop offers a bit of comics history and a session of hands-on DIY comic strip creation. The workshop is open for teens and adults. Registration required; class size is limited to 25 people. Registration opens on Saturday,

The Comic Workshop is an interactive, all ages presentation on the history and production of comic books, sharing with attendees the details of the industry and the beginner essentials in creating their own comic. The author-led workshop also includes a hands-on DIY comic strip making session from conceptualization to finished illustration. 
 
The workshop includes:
 
  • 45 minute PowerPoint presentation on the history and production of comics 
  • 45 minute comic workshop (template paper provided by author).
 
Frattino is the author of A Land Remembered: A Graphic Novel, based on Patrick Smith’s beloved novel of Florida’s pioneer days. He is also the author of the Flagler's Few graphic novel series: The Reaper of St. George StreetLost Souls of Savannah, and The Vampirate of Matanzas Inlet.
